From a tascam dr-22wl handheld recorder with a rycote softie, taken from the top of the cliffs on the path, with my back against a stone wall. Recorded at night, so no sounds from people or vehicles.

Bow wave of a ~8m sailing boat in calm water, distant micing. No sounds from the sail (could just as well be a motor boat depending on what you layer the sound with ;) ). This is a soundwalk i took at the monterey bay aquarium in central california from the outer bay exhibit through the wave tunnel (pausing for a single wave to crash) and then out the door and over to the balcony railing overlooking the ocean.

Medium sized waves recorded sitting on a groyn (no giggling - that's the name given for a construction of wood or rock going out perpendicular to the coast to avoid erosion or longshoredrift)from whence i could get the gurgling of the water as well as the crashing of the small waves and the sucking and pulling of the stones.
